- 250 British pounds£250
Four-week course starting Tuesday 18th April 2023 10am-2pm (4hrs) - Tuesdays Four participants max £250pp Suitable for enthusiastic beginners although some regular experience of painting will be useful. This is an introduction to oils using low-odour solvents. All materials & equipment (except brushes) provided. WHAT WE'LL BE DOING We'll play with energy, colour and light to create a beautiful still-life. Each week we'll work through the processes of a layered painting working with a range of brush sizes and or a palette knife. We'll start by sketching the still-life to get a sense of it's composition, and look at colour and tone and how these work to bring the painting to life. WHAT IT INCLUDES The price of the workshop includes all materials & equipment (except brushes), tuition and venue. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING Brushes are always best looked after by their owners - therefore please bring along a range of large brushes including: a 1-2” paint brush (this could be a good quality decorators brush), something like a number 8 long filbert and a number 4 long filbert. You’ll need to wear suitable clothing. An A4+ sketchbook may be useful but not essential. WHERE TO BUY BRUSHES The brushes I have suggested above are all available from West of Wales Art Supplies on Market Street in Haverfordwest (see Jeff). You can also get them on-line.
