Abstract Woodland Painting - FULL

Play with abstract colour and light - four-week course Thurs 10am-2pm.

  • Starts 3 Mar
  • 195 British pounds
  • High Street

Four-week course (see dates below) 10am-2pm on a Thursday Six places maximum For COVID related info see Booking Terms & Conditions below Suitable for confident beginners and anyone wanting to extend their existing art practise. All materials & equipment (except brushes) provided. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING You'll play with energy, colour and light to create dynamic woodland landscapes. Each week you'll work through the processes of a layered landscape working with large and small brushes and a palette knife, an array of paint textures, drips, and flicks, building a composition organically before working up your painting to a finished piece with confident colour work and mark making. Playing with technique is really important to stretching technical ability so you'll be encouraged to try new things and make mistakes as this is often where the magic is found. WHAT IT INCLUDES The price of the workshop includes all core materials & equipment (except brushes), tuition and venue. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING Brushes are always best looked after by their owners - therefore please bring along a range of large brushes including: a 1-2” paint brush (this could be a good quality decorators brush), something like Daler Rowney Graduate numbers 8 and 4 long filbert bristle brushes and possibly one or two softer smaller round brushes. You’ll need to wear suitable clothing. An A4+ sketchbook would also be useful but not essential. WHERE TO BUY BRUSHES: The brushes I have suggested above are all available from West of Wales Art Supplies on Market Street in Haverfordwest (see Jeff). You can also get them on-line.
