Louise Burdett (née Thorogood) b 1971

I am a contemporary fine artist with a diverse background. I now live and work in Pembrokeshire, West Wales having been born in Greater London.  My studio is part of a new creative hub called The Farm Studio in Lawrenny and we are a collaboration of artists, designers, entrepreneurs and scientists.

I am interested in identity and control and am currently working on an exhibition called WOUNDED for Tenby Museum & Art Gallery for Summer 2023 which explores the themes of mental health and climate change.  I am profoundly effected by the Pembrokeshire Coastline and the generosity of spirit that I have found in the friends I have made here.

Creative Art Workshops - Adults & Families

Sept 2020 I took over the former Oriel Q Gallery at The Queens Hall in Narberth, as my studio, gallery and teaching space.  During this time, Covid rules allowing, I ran creative art workshops and courses for adults. These began before vaccination and so various degrees of social distancing and rules based attendance were employed in order to make the workshops happen, giving a vital lifeline to many of the participants. Teaching has been an important part of my artistic art practice since 1994.
